Q: Who should attend?
A: Anyone interested in learning UNIX and how to effectively use it on a personal or enterprise level.

Q: I don’t know anything about UNIX, will the sessions be hard for me to understand?
A: No, no prior experience in UNIX is required.This series of sessions aims to teach the masses on basic
day to day Unix survival skills. You will be using FreeBSD as a base platform to be comfortable with UNIX.

Q: Who will be presenting the sessions?
A: Our resident practitioner of FreeBSD kungfu, Suresh Ramasamy or better known as sureshdr is a seasoned
technologist in Malaysia.

Currently attached to a leading telecommunications company in Malaysia, responsible for advising senior
management on future proofing and long term strategy on technology. He has been in the industry for more
than 15 years. Started off as a hobby, Suresh began using FreeBSD to host a global network IRC server.

This started more than 10 years ago, and from there it spawned into a passion after he discovered the
potential of this wonderful technology. Suresh is a graduate from Campbell University, North Carolina, USA.

Q: Will there be free food/drinks?
A: Sadly, no. But you’re welcome to bring snacks to share around.

Q: Where will it be held?
A: The sessions will be held at HackerspaceKL. Location map is available here.

Q: What will the fees collected from non-members be used for?
A: All funds collected from the sessions are treated as donations to maintain the space. The speaker has graciously proposed that he will not accept any payments and has donated his portion to the space as well. More information on what HackerspaceKL does is available.
